Round 2!

Fight!

Dont bother voting on the old poll, as it is now obsolete. Above is the new and improved streamlined version. Top three finalists from last round go through to a bonus vote session. Punch it out! Final poll closes on Sunday night at 12pm.

Bonus points will also be awarded based on the band vote too. Thats from HTB themselves. You should be so lucky!

Have you seen the official promo video from HORSE the band for the REIGNS IN AFRICA TOUR? It’s hidden away somewhere on the internets, or so I hear… Maybe we’ll show you. Maybe your lives aren’t ready to be further and dramatically altered! Maybe you should watch this space!

Speaking of watching this space, have you seen the exclusive drama series filmed, edited, casted and sometimes starring HORSE THE BAND, titled ‘Lawrence & Friends’?

“A Natural Death Studio Journals 1-9. These are fucking famous. They contain the popular TV series “Lawrence & Friends” which was tragically never concluded.”

Your viewing pleasure can begin below with a random episode. Once you decide this beats any 7de Laan / Isidingo fix (the only two good SA soap operas anyway! And fully endorsed by Calibreed) you can catch the rest of the episodes as well:

Episode 1: Blue Jean Baby

Episode 2: Brian Virtue’s Couch

Episode 3: Sex Raptor / Emergency Modifications

Episode 4: Wan Lon Pan

Episode 5: LIF is cold

Episode 6: Getting Wasted While Getting Healthy

Episode 7: Nathans Dream

Episode 8: The Paradox of our Age

Episode 9: Robert Downey Jnr / “I Hate You”

That is all!

Like a Lion attack!

We announced tour dates and most of you went ‘oooh’ but some of you went ‘aaah’. However, Calibreed is a brand for the people, Horse the band is a band for the masses. We took note of your concerns. You spoke, we listened.

Durban! Oh how you love that festival. We decided to go make sure we checked it out too, at ALL costs! (Seriously), in order to share this experience with you. And so, aside from BURN on Saturday the 3rd of April (intimate, sweaty and at everyone’s favourite local) we’ll also be heading up to SPLASHY FEN and performing on Sunday the 4th. Come to both. Those of you who show your splashy pass at Burn will get a discount at the door. Those of you wanting to go to splashy for HORSE can get a Sunday pass for R150.

Secondly: Grahamstown! You live in a beautiful little town but can’t wait to get away! Going on tour over a holiday works in our favour everywhere but Grahamstown, it would appear. So, we stressed, and we tugged and pulled and worried and we have the solution: Sunday, the 11th of April. We will see you there. It’s going to be even bigger. No More excuses.

We’ve added some support band details, although the list is subject to change. We’re watching, now lets hear the response!

We’d also like to thank MONSTER ENERGY DRINK for coming on board for the tour, keeping helping replace some of the energy the band plans on expending on stage for you. We’ll have some more sponsors announced soon!

Lastly, here’s a fun interview with HORSE the band from PITCAM TV. Eat your bandwidth:

It’s on…

So, the rumors are true, and if you hadn’t heard the rumors, go start some: Calibreed Productions is proud to announce HORSE The Band Live in South Africa! March – April 2010.

http://www.myspace.com/cerberusphotography

Horse the Band is the greatest live musical ensemble on the planet of Earth. Any doubts will be firmly shattered by the ‘REIGNS IN AFRICA’ tour. 12 gigs, 17 days. One opportunity to have the course of your very life forever altered by the musical explosion that is HORSE the mother f*ckin’ BAND.

They’ve toured pretty much everywhere except this lonely Dark Continent, and we’re proud to finally have them on our shores. Lets return the favour and show them exactly what Africa is made of.

HORSE will be coming to you, so there is no excuse. Do you want to be left out? Do you want to have the tales of wonder and awe related to you at a later date, thinking to yourself all the while, ‘Damn, I should have been there’? No you don’t. You want to be at as many of the tour dates as possible. If you’re studying; you’ll be on holiday, if you have work; you’re going to need to call in sick. If you need to deliver a baby, skip the delivery (but name the kid after the band). Sitting there thinking, ‘I would love to have my the course of my existence forever altered through this live experience, but I live in the middle of nowhere, whose going to be coming to Grahamstown? We are. Mozambique? Get over to Maputo, cause we’re fucking coming.

“You’ll leave with a black eye, ringing ears and new found respect for live performance. They are fucking aliens and are not afraid to show it! Be prepared to be blown away!” – Werner, frontman for esteemed local bands Sesling and Wrestlerish.

HORSE the Band hold no punches! They make no excuses! They take no prisoners. Lets oblige this integrity with some of our own, and make the REIGNS IN AFRICA tour one the band remembers as long as you do.

Ignore the terrible sound, this is cell phone cinematics after all. For that first person mosh pit experience. 3:40 Onwards gives me a few chills. You can be a part of that too. Tour dates on the right. Bands interested in being considered for support acts, please email calibreed@gmail.com with the subject ‘Band Submission’. Please include a short bio and links (not attachments) to your bands profile pages and tracks. Any important news will be found here first, so stay in touch. You can sign up on the right if you’d like to recieve any updates in your inbox as well.

This is the OFFICIAL tour website, dont trust any info unless you see it here first. We’re going the blog route to keep fully interactive, your opinions are welcome and will matter! Stay tuned for updates, dates, news, competitions and more.

Hang on tight, the ride kicks off on the 25th of March 2010.
